Tsepiso Sathie Nzayo a.k.a Mbuzobuciko is a member of the band called unGAMAd but he is currently focusing on his solo project. and is busy promoting his upcoming album. Performing all over the Eastern Cape, Mbuzobuciko is working with crews like Lintloko Zeenyoka, Sphura, Rawmenticw Lusiba and Elements Himself. His EP /album /mixtape, Ubungqina Bembongi is a reflection of the paths he has crossed. A mixture of isiXhosa and English, it is a narration of his journey. IsiXhosa is more dominant because he wants to show people that hey can still preserve the language and use it in an appropriate manner, contrary to what is dubbed "xhonglish". Mbuzobuciko is the DJ for the hip hop show, Art Effects, on the community Radio Station, Radio Grahamstown, 102.1 FM, every Friday, 18:00 till 21:00. He was the chairperson of BUA Poetry society (Rhodes University),the founder of isiXhosa society (Rhodes University) and the founder of Rhini Artists Unite. "I am deeply influenced by the writings of the honourable, late Bantu Biko (Black Consciousness). He made me aware that there are people who are less fortunate than I am, so I have to stop mourning and complaining about life's complexities. Instead, I want to focus on more society driven issues, helping make people aware that their present position and situations are man-made. They have to act in a way that will liberate them but also mentally empower them". He is facilitating poetry workshops in local high schools in Grahamstown and Port Elizabeth, to help youth develop self-esteem and reach their potential. |    |
